has been a recognized leader providing air
quality and meteorological consulting services to the mining, mineralogical and
metallurgical processing industries since its inception in 1984. More recently,
MMA has expanded its services to these industries to include multimedia
environmental management, planning, permit coordination and compliance
assistance services. Mining and processing sectors served include coal, base
and precious metals, sand and gravel/aggregates, molybdenum, uranium, limestone
and others.
MMA’s traditional services to the mining industry include air quality permitting, modeling, monitoring, and compliance assistance. We have extensive experience in fugitive dust analyses and control plans, as well as control technology evaluations. MMA assists clients with development and implementation of monitoring programs, and provides air modeling studies as required for permit applications, compliance issues, and environmental impact assessments.
In addition to our work for domestic operations, MMA provides environmental support to dozens of international project locations ranging from South America to Central Asia. Services include air quality and meteorological monitoring, multimedia regulatory analysis, and impact assessments in support of financing documents. Recent international experience includes baseline and compliance monitoring for major copper, zinc and gold projects in Peru, air quality modeling for two major copper operations in Chile, and both monitoring and impact assessment activities for a copper smelter in the Peruvian Andes.
