Air Quality Modeling

McVehil-Monnett Associates, Inc. provides a full range of air quality dispersion modeling including:

  • Supporting permitting and regulatory analyses
  • Impact assessments
  • Various research applications

Model selection and application are based not only on regulatory requirements, but also on a thorough understanding of client needs, meteorological factors, model limitations, and the characteristics of available model input data.

MMA maintains an up-to-date library of all current EPA air quality models, as well as proprietary special-purpose models and software for processing of meteorological data and analysis of model results.

Staff experience includes all current regulatory models, such as AERMOD and CALMET/CALPUFF, as well as complex terrain modeling tools.

MMA has successfully completed hundreds of complex modeling projects for a wide range of clients.  Model applications include:

  • Large industrial complexes in urban areas with hundreds of emission points
  • Historical deposition calculations for metal smelters
  • Long-range transport analyses to define regional haze and acid deposition impacts
  • Evaluation of mining impacts from fugitive dust, blasting, and mining equipment

MMA’s atmospheric scientists also develop unique modeling approaches as necessary to address regulatory requirements, compliance problems, design/control questions and litigation issues.
